Swing on the sax at Jazz On The Green this month in Brisbane
Put on your black turtlenecks, South Bank bring us Jazz On The Green in July. Local jazz legends and up-and-coming talent will fill the last Friday and Saturday of the month with mellow sounds accompanied by savory food and no shortage of drinks.
The best part? This mini-jazz festival is completely free. This makes for the perfect opportunity to relax on the grassy lawns of Riverside Green and take in the views while soaking up the soothing sounds.
Don’t let the free admission fool you, this is not an open mic night. The lineup includes local big names, international talent and some up-and-coming talent worth checking out. Headliners include Sydney jazz icon Emma Pask and local Brisbane legend Franky Smart are two powerful singers you can’t miss.
If the jazzy vibes give you the peck, South Bank still has you covered. Anything you want, they have it. Take your pick from the park’s gourmet restaurants and specialty vendors at Jazz On The Green. Warm up with a warm buttery rum from Hop & Pickle, who will be whipping up cocktails and mocktails throughout the two days, try Ole Sangria’s famous seafood and vegetarian paellas and truffle arancini or Vici’s traditional beef lasagna Italian.
Want more live tracks? Jazz On The Green is just the first part of the neighborhood’s new music program, Live in South Bank. From winter jazz and the vinyl record market, to listening parties and street festivals, there are plenty of songs coming down the river.
