New voices on the air, more jazz coverage online
KNKX is expanding its roster of jazz entertainers and investing in more jazz coverage both on air and online.
Robin Lloyd, jazz journalist
Robin Lloyd will bring his in-depth knowledge of jazz and blues to a new role at KNKX. Over the years, Lloyd has written and produced many stories about music and the artists who make it.
“We are delighted that she can do even more storytelling and reporting in this role,” said Carol Handley, director of music programming at KNKX. “This new position will help you stay on top of what’s going on in the jazz world and deepen your connection to the music you love.”
Lloyd is also the host of Jazz Caliente, which airs at 5 p.m. on Saturdays. Rendezvous this weekend for some great Latin Jazz.
Meet Steve Edwards
Originally from England, Steve Edwards has deep roots in jazz and soul. He hosted the BBC’s JazzFM in London, interviewing artists and cultivating community. He moved to the United States to continue broadcasting, and his work in jazz and soul saw him be inducted into the Nevada Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame in 2014.
Edwards will host Jazz evenings on weekdays at 7, mixing classical and contemporary jazz and blues. It starts on October 18.
Meet Terae Stefon
Born and raised in Seattle, Terae Stefon found her place in radio by volunteering at local community radio stations, before becoming a producer and traffic journalist. You may have heard him host shows on weekends on KNKX’s HD2 signal, Jazz24. Now you will also hear it during the week.
You can broadcast Jazz24 from your mobile device or say to your smart speaker âPlay Jazz24â.
âSteve and Terae will both engage with the KNKX jazz community and also contribute to our jazz storytelling,â Handley added. “We are excited about all of these changes and the new ways they will allow us to engage with you.”
