Narberth Jazz Jazz Garden Party stage at Lampeter House, Lampeter Velfrey
AFTER 15 months without access to live music, Narberth Jazz has an exciting event planned for this month,
The event that has taken so long to come is a Jazz Garden Party in the stunning outdoor setting of Lampeter House, Lampeter Velfrey on Thursday 15th July.
The garden party will run from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will feature the local traditional band Moonshine Boulevard, led by Llawhaden trombonist Tudor Thomas, and the French and gypsy-style cafe group, Afternoon In Paris, which have a large following. and are from the Swansea region.
Narberth Jazz spokesperson Declan Connolly said: âSo many jazz players have been missing out on playing in front of an audience for so long that everyone is really excited to play at this great event.
âAfternoon In Paris is the perfect group for a garden party because everyone loves their stylish and melodious interpretation of Django Reinhardt’s music, which evokes the atmosphere of hot Parisian clubs.
âNormally a four-piece group – led by Susanna Warren on clarinet and bass clarinet and with Jeremy Young on guitar – this time they expanded with piano and drums. They thrilled the people of Narberth to every appearance and crowds of music lovers all over Wales and beyond.
Narberth Jazz has a new website, www.narberthjazz.wales, sponsored by Planed, where tickets can be reserved.
Lampeter House is a Victorian mansion with a small amphitheater facing the terrace, which is as perfect for live jazz as it is for the multitude of artistic events that have been held there in the past.
People are urged to come equipped for the weather and remember that there will be grass underfoot.
It will be a seated event – there will be a few seats but you can bring your own.
Refreshments will be available, but you can bring a picnic.
Covid 19 regulations will apply.
