Influenced by Sarah Vaughan, Nancy Wilson, Frank Sinatra and Aretha Franklin, Denise King is an expressive, big-voiced singer who combines jazz with elements of R&B, blues and gospel. Denise King was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania bursting with energy, good humor and swings with an authentic jazz expression! Opening for Mrs. King is Intrepid Jazz Band. A community jazz ensemble from Lexington, KY, born from its original Big Band jazz orchestra roots, Intrepid Jazz Band is no stranger to traditional jazz music, having performed its jazz standards in venues across the Bluegrass performing for public and private events including charity events and swing dance events.
