Harrison West Jazz Stage – Alex Burgoyne Quartet
For our first show of the season, we have the honor to present the Alex Burgoyne Quartet, the Ajumama food truck and the J-Pops!
Where: The Harrison Park Gazebo (near the Olentangy Trail).
When: Sunday September 5, 2021
1:30 p.m. – The food truck arrives
2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. – The band plays live
About the Band: The Alex Burgoyne Quartet (ABQ) has been lighting up nightclubs in and around Columbus for nearly a decade, drawing inspiration from the cool jazz collaboration of Jim Hall and Paul Desmond in the late 1950s and early ’60s. A set with ABQ’s easy swing, conducted by saxophonist Alex Burgoyne, and starring guitarist Tom Davis, bassist Jason Bash, and drummer Dan DiPiero might feature a folk tune from the 1960s. , a Scottish drinking song and a number of Broadway standards, all filtered through their Midwest-cool signature.
Other things to know: This performance is FREE! Seats are available on the grass in front of the gazebo, so bring a blanket and umbrella (there isn’t much shade in the park yet!). Ajumama will be serving up their Korean street food, and the J-Pops will tempt us with their delicious artisanal popsicles in a range of flavors! There is also a play area next to the gazebo for children. The Harrison West Society will be making chalk available for anyone interested in developing their art while they enjoy the concert. And ** NEW THIS YEAR ** Saucy Brew Works – Columbus will be having a special happy hour just for the Jazz scene after the show!
There are no restrooms available at this park, so be sure to adapt to them before you go. ??
