Stage Hour: Georges River Council calls all poets and lyricists for a community event.

Budding singers and poets, it’s up to you to shine.

Georges River Council invites poets and performers to participate in an upcoming event.

Suitable for lyricists seeking to combine their passions for music and writing, jazz poetry is a literary genre defined as poetry informed by jazz music. In other words, a poetry which has a jazz rhythm, a syncope, a feeling of improvisation, or which takes jazz as its subject.

Selected individuals or groups will have the opportunity to perform their piece in front of a live audience with intermissions from live jazz musicians.

The Jazz Poetry performance is February 24 and Clive James Library, Kogarah at 7 p.m.

Throughout 2022, various events will take place in the council libraries to revive and support the community’s cultural scene and nightlife.
