Cork Jazz Fest is just around the corner – here are some great concerts scheduled with tickets still available

This is one of the biggest weekends on the Irish music calendar, and we are delighted that it is happening this year.

Every October bank holiday weekend, jazz fans flock to ~ the real capital ~ for this much-loved musical event. If you’re planning on making the trip but haven’t decided on a gig yet, fear not. Here is a selection of some of the big events taking place as part of the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, with tickets still available:

Jazz on a summer day, Center des Arts Triskel

A screening of Bert Stern’s award-winning documentary Jazz on a summer day, which was filmed at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival. Starring Jimmy Giuffre, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Stitt, Anita O’Day, Dinah Washington and many more. Tickets available HERE.

Block Rockin ‘Beats Live, Cork Opera House

Starring Dec Pierce and a drummer troupe called ‘The Hit Machine’ live on stage. According to Pierce, “It’s like a cross between Vikings, Celtic Warrior drummers and a DJ.” A spectacle for all the senses not to be missed. Tickets available HERE.

Bird on the Wire: Leonard Cohen songs at Cork Opera

A collective of incredible musicians led by Pauline Scanlon and The Whileaways, performing the music of the late great Leonard Cohen. Tickets available HERE.

Masexodus Fort. Hypnotic brass Together, The Everyman

An exploration of the sounds of modern contemporary jazz with over 15 musicians on stage. Tickets available HERE.

The collective X, the Everyman

An exciting new group of international RnB, soul and hip hop stars, led by producers Zapho and Emily Shaw under the umbrella of Oíche Events. A night of collaboration, creativity and dance. Tickets available HERE.
