A Legendary Jazz Drummer Improvises All The Drums In TOOL’s “Schism”

Drummer Dennis Rooms is a jazz and funk legend. He spent 7 years, between 1978 and 1985, as a member of George Clintonit is Parliament-Funkadelic bandaged. He has participated in studio sessions with countless jazz legends such as John Scofield, George Dukeand John McLaughlin.

Recently, however, Bedrooms to listen Toolfor the first time the hit song “Schism”, while filming a lesson for the online drum lesson site, Drumeoas reported by Musical speed cameras. You can watch the video above. In the video, Bedrooms runs the track without Danny Careydrum parts. Bedrooms then wields its own prowess and does its own thing on the Tool classic. “The first thing I listen to is style,” Chambers says. “The second thing I listen to is the time signature, just like anybody else.”

Chambers notes that Tool isn’t necessarily his “cup of tea”, but praised the track nonetheless, saying “It’s a great song, man.
